As the holiday season approaches, Dior pays tribute to the powerful ties forged with Saks and New York for over seventy years. The House has thought up a magical Carousel of Dreams that will unfold on the impressive facade of the iconic American department store and within small theaters of the marvelous in all of its twenty-four windows.
For the occasion, the prestigious Saks Fifth Avenue is adorned with a spectacular installation – a giant wheel of fortune*, over 35 meters wide – punctuated with Dior codes such as the star, the clover and the signs of the Zodiac, evoking the founding-couturier’s unique legacy and his lucky charms. Embellished with a profusion of flowers, this tableau is sublimated each evening by dazzling light effects, perpetuating the tradition of illuminations that magnify the 5th Avenue building every year.
From the monumental to the art of detail so dear to the Maison, the enchantment continues in each of the emblematic windows, where irresistible miniature scenes relate Christian Dior’s American odyssey and his first trip to New York in September 1947. A dreamlike journey expressing the excellence and quintessence of Dior style, through all its universes and timeless symbols.
