For its first participation at Dubai Watch Week, ArtyA presents the unique piece: 'Curvy Purity Tourbillon NanoSaphir Emerald'

  • A cutting edge material : tinted ‘NanoSaphir’ to create a pure, totally transparent case aesthetic.

  • .A color : Emerald Green, symbolizing joy, optimism, bravery and courage, reflects the creative energy of Dubai. A nod also to the flag of the UAE, unifying the seven emirates.

  • An all-new Manufacture movement : Curvy Purity Tourbillon, entirely redesigned, the tonneau-shaped case features perfect axial symmetry, a crown positioned at 12 o'clock, and an oversized tourbillon that is a visual delight. The 'Curvy Purity Tourbillon' movement is the latest addition to the ArtyA movement family.

ArtyA is presenting an exceptional timepiece for Dubai Watch Week. Crafted from exclusive NanoSaphir material, it features the completely redesigned Curvy Purity Tourbillon movement. Here, it seems to float weightlessly in the transparent, emerald-green tinted case. Both aesthetically and technically this piece is a distillation of ArtyA's horological expertise, and a highlight of this year’s premier watchmaking event. For this new case ArtyA applied innovative NanoSaphir technology, which allows for tinting sapphire at the molecular level for an effect simply unattainable by coating treatments. At the forefront of material sciences innovation, noble yet resistant, it makes possible hues that are much more intense than conventional sapphire. The rich emerald green achieved here is powerful. A nod to the flag of the United Arab Emirates, it symbolizes the creative dynamism, joy, optimism, bravery, and courage that are associated with Dubai. The case's elegant shape, with its harmoniously proportioned volume and curvature, is designed to hug the wrist, ensuring optimal comfort. Its contoured sides blend elegance with technical prowess, creating a distinctive profile. The gracefully curved angles offer a dual vantage point for admiring the large 17.2-millimeter 4 Hz tourbillon that appears to levitate at the center. With curved, supple, ergonomic lines, and harmonious dimensions of 38.5 x 43 mm, Jérémie Arpa, son of Yvan Arpa, has crafted a designer timepiece that commands an attractive presence. It stands as an intriguing alternative to the conventional round or rectangular models.

The Curvy Purity Tourbillon movement

Culminating several years of development, the Curvy movement is the newest member of the Purity Tourbillon family of Manufacture created exclusively for ArtyA. Distinguished by its striking axial symmetry and a crown at 12 o'clock, the Curvy Purity Tourbillon movement represents the apex of technical and aesthetic innovation for the Purity collection. The tourbillon, grand in scale at 17.2 mm, takes flight at the 6 o'clock position, offering an optimal view of its rotation. Its parallel-mounted double barrel delivers a substantial 72-hour power reserve. The movement proper, situated above, has been meticulously skeletonized, magnifying its particular visual appeal. The iron-sandblasted and hand-beveled finishes add to its beauty, and the optimized display to its legibility. The Curvy Purity Tourbillon NanoSaphir Emerald transcends mere timekeeping to become a masterpiece of both technology and design. Its compelling aesthetic commands attention with a bold and assertive style – the ultimate synthesis of exceptional watchmaking and unparalleled beauty.

In Dubai, for the watchmaking week, Beauregard unveils ‘Lili Candy’ White Gold

A sweet swirl of amethysts, topazes, carnelians, opals and garnets in a circle of diamonds, Beauregard rewrites the dialogue between the world of gems and the art of watchmaking. With three nominations for the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (2018, 2020 and 2023), Beauregard makes its mark as the only independent watch brand for women. This week, the brand will unveil this exquisite new piece in white gold in Dubai on the occasion of the watch week.

Beauregard's Lili collection is a bold affirmation of the brand’s hallmark: peerless aesthetics and technique at play with unusual stones, rich in color and fashioned in unusual volumes. Each piece is unparalleled, a testament to supreme craftsmanship. And at the heart of each piece, the irreplaceable touch of the human hand, the ultimate instrument of creativity. Alexandre Beauregard goes beyond proposing a timepiece; he invites you into an expansive universe where the lapidary's mastery meets Swiss watchmaking par excellence. An enchanting and poetic composition evocative of tangy sweetness – an aesthetic language drawn from the realms of art, design, and fashion. His creations meld watchmaking and jewelry, precision and preciousness, where unexpected hues and bold volumes bring the watch face to life. Each watch whispers directly to the heart, awakening the senses to the essence of the stones — sight, touch, and even the tantalizing sweetness evoked by the playfully named Lili Candy.

White gold with palladium for pure, brilliant, radiant whiteness. With this creation, Beauregard momentarily steps away from the floral to lead us into a world of sweetness and color. Petals give to a dazzling swirl of amethysts and topazes, carnelians, opals and garnets, meticulously nestled in a circle of diamonds. The result is a luscious, bewilderingly lifelike confection that marries indulgence with sophistication. The Lili Candy White Gold case is crafted from a noble metal within the platinum group, blending white gold with Palladium 500 for an immaculate, enduring, and untarnished luster. This alloy is not only harder and more durable but also displays its innate radiance without the need for rhodium plating. Eschewing the common practice of rhodium coating, Beauregard stands firm in its pursuit of authenticity. Alexandre Beauregard equates the application of rhodium on gold to 'painting a diamond' – a deliberate stance that underscores the significance of material integrity in the creation of exquisite timepieces.

The Stargazer watch created by Konstantin Chaykin for the auction Only Watch 2023 will be on display for visitors to Dubai Watch Week.

The watch became the most complicated among all of the lots on offer at this year's postponed auction and one of the most complicated in the world, with 11 of Stargazer's 17 functions being astronomical. The master used both sides of the watch, creating two anthropomorphic dials to harmoniously distribute its indicators.

The Konstantin Chaykin booth will be located in the Brand Exhibition section, number S4.

Charles Zuber marks its anniversary in Dubai

Charles Zuber is preparing to celebrate a significant milestone: its first anniversary since the brand’s international launch. To celebrate the occasion, Charles Zuber will be exhibiting at Dubai Watch Week 2023 in the main exhibition area of The Gate Village from November 16th to 20th, 2023. Dubai, the city rising from the midst of the desert, offers the perfect backdrop for unveiling Charles Zuber’s latest creation: the PERFOS 'Föhn' 39mm, a watch in desert hues as a luxurious caress on the wrist. A testament to the brand's Swiss heritage, this new limited edition timepiece of 50 pieces encapsulates elegance and innovation, paying tribute to the famous Swiss wind, the ‘Föhn’ (pronounced like the word ‘fern’ but without the ‘r’), known for its strength and passion, but also for its warmth. The PERFOS ‘Föhn’ 39mm expresses the brand’s hallmark commitment to style, as an invitation to embrace the journey of discovery on the wings of the wind.

With its new connected art exhibition, the Fondation Haute Horlogerie (FHH) shines a unique light on watchmaking culture during the 6th edition of Dubai Watch Week

The Fondation Haute Horlogerie will soon unveil a new connected art experience produced for Dubai Watch Week 2023. Twelve artworks dedicated to some of the iconic models from the fair’s participating brands promise to both entertain and educate, amidst a multifaceted programme.

From 16 to 20 November, 2023, the FHH will return to Dubai Watch Week’s now sixth and largest edition yet, held at The Gate, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

Having become one of the essential happenings on the global watchmaking calendar since 2015, Dubai Watch Week 2023 promises a packed programme, with over 60 watch brands participating alongside convergent industries such as the design, automotive, and art worlds.

The fair’s greater mission echoes that of the Fondation Haute Horlogerie: to contribute to watchmaking culture’s international proliferation. It was therefore only natural that the FHH be called upon to put together a new exhibition of connected art through twelve exclusive works, under the aegis of its Watches & Culture pillar, for this important occasion.

Selection of the 12 images from the FHH exhibition during Dubai Watch Week

Exhibited throughout the fair, these illustrations were created especially for twelve of the FHH’s partner brands present during the fair, featuring key details of their iconic timepieces reinterpreted as an artistic abstraction. Watch aficionados will undoubtedly recognise icons from Audemars Piguet, Bovet, Breitling, Chopard, Girard-Perregaux, Greubel Forsey, H.Moser & Cie, MB&F, Ressence, TAG Heuer, Ulysse Nardin or Van Cleef & Arpels – although some will be trickier to spot than others!

For visitors to the fair, their journey into this unique experience begins by scanning the installation QR codes found alongside each artwork onsite. An animation will then appear, immersing viewers into that brand’s universe - if only briefly through their mobile phones. This makes for a potent mix of educational yet entertaining content, which visitors can use to inform their answers in the subsequent Dubai Watch Week quiz, for the chance to win prizes.

When speaking about the project, Aurélie Streit, Vice President of the Fondation Haute Horlogerie said: “Part of the FHH’s vision includes our particular brand of edutainment, seen for example in some of our well-known activations. This concept has been extended, most notably through the FHH’s increased presence at numerous events on the international watchmaking calendar.”

Hot on the heels of the FHH’s Forum 2023, Pascal Ravessoud, Vice President of the Fondation Haute Horlogerie will also once again participate in a panel entitled “Spare Me: is aftersales an after-thought?” during Dubai Watch Week’s own Horology Forum. Taking place on the final day of events, it promises to be a riveting discussion, with a roster of renowned industry figures.

For more information on these activities and the wider Dubai Watch Week programme, or to book media appointments with an FHH spokesperson during the fair, please visit https://www.dubaiwatchweek.com/
