GEORGES HOBEIKA Couture Fall 2023 Collection - "A DREAM" with the actress Fan BingBing

The first day of Paris haute Couture week had strong Chinese vibe, after last seasons fashion week where it was all about American artists and couture clients. The front row guests and friends of the brand's now occupy runway itself - considered one of Asia's most successful artists and celebrity, Fan Bing Bing walking the runway this time for Georges Hobeika, in voluminous, rococo style inspired dress and matching baby blue saten plateau shoes.

A new era for the Maison Georges Hobeika began one year ago with the Fall 2022 Couture collection presented for the first time by both Co-Creative Directors Georges and Jad Hobeika,

"This collection was imagined to celebrate hope and optimism. We have chosen soft colors and fluid silhouettes that evoke joy, gentleness, and freedom," said creative directors Georges and Jad Hobeika.

The show is a manifestation of novel ideas where renowned Chinese actress Fan BingBing joined the co-creatives’ dream and walked the runway with a mesmerizing, otherworldly appearance. The expertise of the ateliers is expressed through the refinement of fabrics such as silk, duchess satin, organza, crepe chiffon, and georgette, as well as the sophistication of ornaments that highlight cascades of crystals, feathers, and pearls. They combine velvet weaves with precisely crafted iridescent swirls of petals.

A great variety of floral and botanical motifs flourish on delicate embroideries. This idyllic landscape, crowned with graceful flights of dragonflies, bears witness to the house's commitment to the ever-moving living nature.

The color palette unveils a subtle range dominated by pink, lilac, blue, and green. A plethora of accessories compliments this enchanting wardrobe: tulip belts, winged earrings, and crystallized flowers harmoniously blend nature and couture in service of elegance and the joy of living.

Finally, the bridal dress emerges as a breathtaking masterpiece within this collection of dreams. It represents the epitome of skillful craftsmanship and artistic expertise, as the creators have chosen to adorn it with delicate matte embroidery, evoking the ethereal allure of mist and the enchantment born from a vibrant imagination.

Georges Hobeika features again men’s couture, affirming its place as part of the house’s DNA and appeal to the contemporary generation of couture clients.

The silhouettes further reflect this sense of ease and modernity: dresses appear to float on the body, while a neckline inspired by Marie-Antoinette opts for the fresh twist of a jumpsuit shape. The ornate embroidery synonymous with the Maison’s heritage, creates magical "trompe-l’œil" effects; such as frosted water droplets, cascading diamond shapes and an ethereal burst of flowing feathers. Gold and silver chains and intricate thread embroidery evoke the links and webs between individuals. The striking colour palette features the essential yellows, pinks and blues alongside classic black and white, with plays on sheerness and contrasts.

Each item in the collection is a meticulously intricate homage to the unique treasures of the Maison, translated into amazing suits and dresses by the Mains Précieuses seamstresses in the House's Beirut Atelier. Exceptional maturity, unrestricted imagination, and reverence for the illustrious Maison Georges Hobeika combined with couture savoir-faire.

The couture collection recognizes that there is no "one size fits all" ideal of beauty, silhouette, or sex, while remaining faithful to the Maison's aesthetics. The season's palette flushes from Mediterranean blues to sunset tones of peachy orange, yellow, fuchsia, and pink, the Maison's signature color combination, and here too, combined with feathers and jewel-like sculptural formations of stones and crystal appliqués.
