MM6 Maison Margiela and SALOMON reveal a new chapter in the brands’ continued collaborative relationship: a celebration of a shared ethos of innovative, transitional design.
This autumn brings the launch of six new products, of which the first two – the Cross Wader trainer and the ADV Skin 5 hydration vest – will be released for purchase on September 28th. Fusing SALOMON’s trail running heritage and MM6 Maison Margiela’s irreverent design perspective, the Cross Wader (below) offers an unconventional interpretation of the French outdoor sports brand’s familiar signatures. The shoe is inherently progressive, merging a skin-tight, thigh-high silhouette with a moulded, high-grip rubber sole. Balancing the rugged practicality of a trail running shoe with the sensuality of a thigh boot, its unexpected elegance is emphasized in subdued black & ebony and vanilla & almond colourways, both featuring cyan accents.
The second product of this first launch sees SALOMON’s best-selling vest – the ADV Skin 5 – reimagined through MM6 Maison Margiela’s distinct aesthetic lens. Its design is, first and foremost, function-led, with soft water flasks integrated into the chest, and a breathable mesh harness that ensures a snug, friction-free fit. Available in tonal black and vanilla hues, and featuring a co-branded logo on the reverse, its directional look lives up to its performance-optimized design.
