Swiss Made: New Super-Squale Launched

The Super-Squale model was launched in the 60s, and immediately became one of the most popular watches of the Squale brand.

Indeed it was not by chance that in 1959 charles Von Büren registered the “Super-Squale” trademark together with the “Squale” brand itself, symbolic of a watch destined to become iconic in the world of dive watches.

The Super-Squale model was born to be a skin diver: with a water resistance of 200 meters, a 38-millimeter diameter case and a width of only 45mm, the Super Squale has been designed to be as lightweight as possible during dives, with or without a wetsuit.

The new Super-Squale models are not only paying homage to the past: the versions faithful to the originals are flanked by totally new models that have a modern feel but maintain all the necessary features for diving.

In the 1960s, diving watch crystals were made of plexiglass, a resistant but easily scratched material.

Today, the models in the Super-Squale collection are equipped with a double-domed sapphire crystal, essential to avoid any distortion in terms of legibility, while maintaining the vintage charm of the iconic case.
