  • ArtyA unveils the new AquaSaphir

Immerse yourself in the hyper-creative, captivating world of ArtyA with the new AquaSaphir. ArtyA © The AquaSaphir shown here with the Cyan NanoSapphire bezel, giving it a colourful, turquoise transparency. It’s a new kind of sapphire crystal watch. When the temperature rises... it’s time to slip into the summer spirit with ArtyA's AquaSaphir collection of sapphire crystal aquatic watches. Back in 2013, ArtyA was one of the very first brands to develop sapphire crystal watches. Over the past 10 years the brand has acquired unique expertise and know-how, notably in the development of sapphire crystal cases, and in the mastery of tinted sapphire crystal. Rated to 6 ATM, the AquaSaphir is the first sapphire crystal aquatic watch on the market capable of withstanding the pressure down to a depth of 60 meters (over 195 feet). How it does this? It’s the first watch to have been ingeniously designed without any steel elements in the sapphire crystal case. No visible screws, no metal casing, nothing to block the watch’s transparency. A technically complex and daring choice that allows for an unprecedented and unparalleled aesthetic. And thanks to the remarkable hardness of sapphire – 9 on the Mohs scale, the hardest mineral right after diamond and moissanite – it also translates into a case that is naturally scratch-resistant. To accentuate the AquaSaphir’s summery visual vibe, the bezel has been crafted in cyan-tinted NanoSaphirTM, giving the crystal’s transparency a vibrant, turquoise hue that in turn emphasizes the watch’s affinity with the surf and beyond. At its center, entirely handcrafted by Swiss master enamellers, the enamel dial mesmerizes with a magnificent blue gradient, from intense at the top to pure white at the bottom, like diving down to a sandy seafloor. The visually powerful color underscores the watch’s aquatic character and works beautifully with the sapphire crystal’s transparency. A second version of the AquaSaphir features a dial made from a Gibeon meteorite discovered in Namibia. The characteristic patterns – known as Widmanstätten patterns – created by the crystalline structure of metal alloys cooling very, very slowly over millions of years in space – bring out an organic aspect in this natural, timeless dial, lending a singular and distinctive character to this AquaSaphir. Inside, the beating heart of a mechanical self-winding movement with 3 hands and date: an ArtyOn exclusive made in Switzerland. It shines with a range of particularly meticulous finishes such as the presence of rose gold, NAC to darken the gray steel, and the traditional Côtes de Genève, all of which superbly showcase the movement’s architecture, its spatial volumes, the way it plays light, with reflections and shadows magnifying the beautiful mechanism – whose precision is certified by COSC, the prestigious Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute. • The Duchess of Edinburgh in Canvey Island

The Duchess of Edinburgh attends the grand opening of the new Charfleet Book Bindery in Canvey Island on 27th June HRH Sophie Duchess of Edinburgh attends the grand opening of the new Charfleet Book Bindery in Canvey Island. Photos Dave Benett Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh attends the grand opening of the new Charfleet Book Bindery on June 27, 2023 in Canvey Island, England. (Photo by Dave Benett/ for Charfleet Book Bindery) Dave Benett © Former Browns CEO Simon Burstein‘s latest project combines exquisite artisanal bookbinding with the fashion entrepreneur’s vision for contemporary menswear. From South Molton Street to Canvey Island, Essex After a hugely successful career building Browns (1970-1982 and 2008-2015 - his parents’ iconic South Molton Street stores) into a globally recognised fashion emporium, and in between heading Sonia Rykiel in Paris (1985-2007), the next chapter of Simon Burstein’s business story sees the entrepreneur amalgamate his passion for menswear, books and stationery, as he announces the relaunch of Charfleet Bookbindery on Canvey Island in the Thames Estuary, as well as the contemporary menswear and heritage brand, Leathersmith of London, which has been making diaries and journals since 1839. “When I sold Browns in 2015 to Farfetch, I had no idea I would end up owning a bindery business, but a series of serendipitous events combined with an unrealised love of artisanal bookmaking has led to where we are today, opening a brand-new state-of-the-art bindery facility on Canvey Island, saving a number of uniquely skilled roles, and relaunching a 184-year-old British Brand.” Bound by a love of craft T.J & J Smith was founded in 1839 (now under the name of Charfleet Bookbindery) and specialises in the production of stunning bespoke diaries, journals, notebooks, and leatherbound goods. In the 1950s, Edward Dudley Smith, who was the grandnephew of TJ & J Smith, travelled all over the United States to promote the Leathersmith of London brand and was so successful that he established offices in New York. He wore a bowler hat, carried an umbrella and looked like a traditional Englishman. The business was sold to H.Neale in 1987 who had built a bindery on Canvey Island after the Second World War. When the business went into administration in 2015, Burstein stepped in to acquire it, retaining the skilled artisan workforce (most of whom have two decades of experience) and moving them into new state-of-the-art premises on Canvey Island, to be officially opened by HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh on 27 th June 2023. A heritage brand reborn Burstein first discovered the heritage stationer Leathersmith of London not long after having his passion for stationery was sparked by opening the first ever Filofax franchise shop during his tenure there in Paris. Then, as now, it specialises in beautiful, handcrafted diaries, journals and desk accessories. However, Burstein has ambitions to evolve Leathersmith of London into a lifestyle brand, firstly with a range of stylish and practical bags and small leather goods to be shown at Pitti Uomo in this June’23, and then featuring a relaxed and modern menswear collection informed by his many decades of experience working with some of the most talented designers in the world. “Despite being a heritage brand and existing for the best part of two centuries, when I discovered Leathersmith of London, it was largely unknown. It has given me the opportunity to do what I love the most, which is building brands, and so what is going to be really exciting is taking a business with such a long and storied history, and evolving it into a modern lifestyle proposition, all the while retaining its leather goods heritage.” Back to Simon’s (The) Place London - retail concept Central to Burstein’s vision for the Charfleet Bookbindery and Leathersmith of London are his retail stores, The Place London (a menswear and womenswear store a couple of doors down from each other) in Connaught Village and replicated in Paris in the heart of St Germain. The Place sees Burstein back in familiar territory, going back to his roots building a novel retail experience that showcases for women emerging fashion talent of any age and nationality, and for men, an incubator of artisanal craftsmanship under the Leathersmith of London brand. • HUBLOT'S E-COMMERCE EXCLUSIVE: SPIRIT OF BIG BANG ESSENTIAL GREY

HUBLOT'S E-COMMERCE EXCLUSIVE: SPIRIT OF BIG BANG ESSENTIAL GREY © HUBLOT'S E-COMMERCE EXCLUSIVE: SPIRIT OF BIG BANG ESSENTIAL GREY The Essential Grey features a variation in style in luminous grey and is exclusively available online. A unique approach to watchmaking for a handful of collectors who make each vintage their own. The Essential Grey collection was born of this premise: a single colour, a single model, once a year, through a single channel. It's an approach that appeals both to the most discerning collectors, who make all the vintages their own, one after the other to form a collection that's as consistent as it is complete, and to the more occasional fans of the 'Essential Grey' line, who are aware of its recurrence and patiently await the arrival of the model that suits them perfectly. This year, it's Spirit of Big Bang's turn to be part of the Essential Grey line. This historic collection, the only one in Hublot's barrel shape, is made from 100% titanium: including the case, bezel, screws, crown, push-pieces, case-back and folding clasp. The idea is to use the chromatic properties of titanium, the soft, radiant grey that the Manufacture wished to sandblast and grind, as a natural and obvious base for the Essential Grey version. For the occasion, the rubber strap has been matched, lined with black thread on the outer edge to mark the vanishing line. When it comes to the movement, Hublot has carefully treated all the components in the same way. However, to preserve the timepiece’s legibility, the Manufacture has introduced very subtle variations to this Essential Grey, notably on the date disc (window at half-past four), on the chronograph counters (minutes at 3 o'clock, hours at 6 o'clock), while playing with the multiple finishes: mirror polished, drawn lines, graining, luminescent hour markers, rhodium-plated hands and a play on the different levels of depth. Only 100 copies will be available, exclusively online at hublot.com. Explore Moralmoda Art Culture Lifestyle Travel Business Interviews Events Get in touch About us Contacts Subscribe

Williams staged his Spring-Summer 2024 Men’s show at the Hôtel des Invalides in Paris, continuing an exploration around the codes of the classic gentleman’s wardrobe and a new culture of masculine dressing. The school uniform was among the archetypes studied in the collection, re-appropriated according to a teenage-driven desire for customization, including hacked-off denim shorts and low-rise pants. Layered plays on alternating lengths figure at the heart of the collection. Shrunken sweatshirts and polos take turns with suits, ties and overflowing shirts. Proportions oscillate stylishly in flowing pieces such as longline t-shirts decorated with oversized grommets, cutout sweaters with elongated sleeves and wide leg flared trousers. Utilitarian, technical and military details appear on nylon outerwear and sleeveless tops, plays of webbing, bags worn around the waist and backpacks. Accessories include jewelry that pays homage to Hubert de Givenchy in adaptations of orchids, one of his favorite flowers. • Rains presents ‘Drenched’ for Spring–Summer 2024

Elevated outdoor clothes is new urban chic, RAINS' SS24 collection, which was shown in Paris channel the wet spirit of summer through a cool coordinated colour palette, from ready-to-wear waterproof winning looks ©Filippo Fior, courtesy of RAINS, Spring–Summer 2024. Rains re-examines water and reflects the confidence of a wardrobe that embraces it. The ‘Drenched’ collection proposes textile innovation paired with contemporary Scandinavian design to create clothing that’s at once spirited, functional, and rooted in rainfall. The brand's runway show as part of the official Menswear Ready-to-Wear Spring—Summer 2024 Paris Fashion Week, was presentee on June 22, at 73 Rue De Richelieu. “Contrast is a central tool in the journey of Rains. This season, space was created to consider the unexplored in our own waterproof DNA,” explains Co-founder, Philip Lotko. Far from the sight of water, the audience is immersed in a sound bath; echoing drips, rippling splashes, pouring water. Resonant piano notes strike, marking the start of the show; soundtracked by Danish Composer, Frederik Valentin. His dreamy, ethereal composition evokes rainfall. The opening look captivates attention; an ode to Rains’ signature rainwear silhouettes. Models file in behind, entering the dry showspace as if caught in a downpour outside, their hair saturated, their skin decorated with surreal raindrops. The space itself is focused, centered; all attention is fixed on the energy of the runway. Spring–Summer 2024 Collection: “Rains was born out of the rain,” says Tanne Vinter, Rains Head of Design. This link underscores the Spring–Summer 2024 ‘Drenched’ collection and the visual language woven throughout. A retrospective study of the classic rain jacket sparked the genesis of the first collection chapter. As the first hooded models make their way through the crowd, familiarity feels both novel and elevated. Garments evolve to become fringed with languid strings that give the illusion of rain in freefall. Innovative treatments and techniques transform Rains’ signature waterproof fabrics with finishes that feel liquid to the touch. Others seemingly soaked in water; puckered, crinkled, gathered. A closer look at accessories reveals elemental design details like extended straps jet streaming from buckles downward, enhancing a sense of vertical movement. “Styling is contemporary yet rooted; assuring both possibility and promise in the conventions of rainwear,” says Vinter. Rains is an outerwear lifestyle brand. Its collections blend a conceptual-meets-functional design approach, a strong urban inspiration, and a signature fabric identity. A coated waterproof fabric palette inspired by Rains’ first design – a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic rubber raincoat. Rains brings its neo-Scandinavian aesthetic, unisex collections, and consistently surprising curation to consumers across four continents.
