(LM FlyingT Allegra MB&F x Bulgari’s new collaboration lady’s watch)
MB&F collaborated with jewellery brand already in 2010, when they created with the Parisian jewellery house Boucheron the “JwlryMachine”.
Now MB&F share the latest extraordinary collaboration with the Roman iconic Maison BULGARI!
The result is the LM FlyingT Allegra, available in white or rose gold, featuring a whirlwind of coloured gemstones set against a backdrop of snow-set diamonds.
Bulgari x MB&F
The story of the collaboration between Bulgari and MB&F is that of an encounter between Bulgari’s Product Creation Executive Director, Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, and MB&F’s Founder and Creative Director, Maximilian Büsser. It’s also the story of an encounter between two unusual and unconventional creative approaches.
The Rome-based Maison is known for its love of cabochon-cut coloured gems, expressing Mediterranean warmth and exuberance. At MB&F we design radical, complex mechanical timepieces.
The astonishing, bejewelled result
The choice to revisit MB&F's Legacy Machine FlyingT was both natural and logical. The vertically-built movement – topped by a 60-second flying tourbillon – is designed in such a way that only its owner can read the time, with hours and minutes displayed at a 50-degree angle. The case-back reveals the sun-shaped oscillating weight, winding a barrel that ensures a generous 100-hour power reserve. A sapphire crystal dome tops this three-dimensional assembly, beneath which one can admire the organic life of the movement.
For each of the 20 + 20 timepieces composing the two rose and white gold limited editions, Bulgari’s jewellers have carefully selected tourmaline, tsavorite, rubellite, amethyst, tanzanite and topaz, in an exceptional composition forming a full circle around the movement.
Retail price of these new pieces is CHF 160,000 + VAT (USD 185,000 / EUR 150,000 + tax).
Ateliers Louis Moinet Unveil ASTRONEF
Astronef is a new mechanical masterpiece presented by Ateliers Louis Moinet. Its character combines adrenaline and contemporary art. This creation unveils a complex dial, a super-light case and reveals a powerful mechanism: two tourbillons rotating in opposite directions at high speed. ASTRONEF has been designed to instil a sense of movement, whatever the angle from which it is viewed. Fluid on the outside, original on the inside, it features an absolutely unique and distinctive aesthetic. In all, six distinct elements are in motion: two satellite tourbillons rotating around the dial, as well as their two cages and their two counterweights.
SUPER-LIGHT
The curved crystal of ASTRONEF reveals the powerful mechanism and its power is accentuated by the lightness of its gold frame and sapphire container.
The technical construction of the case is unusual:
- a sapphire container mounted on an 18K gold frame
- openworked lugs and case middle
- a sapphire dome and its applied inner bezel ring.
