INTRODUCTION TO BVLGARI RESTAURANTS
Since 2007 Bvlgari has brought the brand’s distinctive style and sense of luxury to the cities
of Tokyo and Osaka with the Michelin-starred Italian-style restaurant and lounge bar with
terrace in Ginza, IL RISTORANTE - LUCA FANTIN and a café and chocolate shop in Osaka.
Il Ristorante, which includes a rooftop terrace with an Italian-style garden and lounge bar,
occupies the top four floors of the Bvlgari Ginza Tower, the Bvlgari flagship store in Ginza,
the most prestigious luxury shopping district in Tokyo.
With its imposing 56-meter-high façade, the eleven-floor Bvlgari Ginza Tower is an icon of
metropolitan architecture for customers and visitors to Tokyo. Located at 2-7-12, Ginza,
Chuo-ku, it is home to the largest Bvlgari store in the world, with 940 square meters of retail
floor space. The façade and interiors of the Tower were designed by in-house Bvlgari
architects, while the structure, inspired by a jewel box, was designed by the Shimizu
Corporation.
The four levels of the restaurant are reached by an elevator that departs from a private
lobby located on the ground floor and accessible directly from Marronnier street. Two
private dining rooms and a lounge area are located on the first level, on the eighth floor.
The intermediate level, part of which is double-height, is situated on the ninth and tenth
floors and houses the restaurant and overlooking bar. Enclosed by the large, glass curtain
wall that rises from the ninth floor of the Ginza Tower, Il Ristorante offers a unique view of
Tokyo from all angles thanks to the transparent, full-height glass façade, thus making the
city almost an extension of the interior space. By ascending to the eleventh floor, visitors
can continue admiring the unique panorama of the city from the terrace with Italian-style
garden.
In September 2016 Il Ristorante - Luca Fantin unveiled freshly renovated spaces designed
by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel Interiors and characterized by a modern, elegant, and
rigorous style that echoes the architectural and decorative motifs of the Bvlgari Hotel
restaurant in Milan. To complement, sumptuous new furniture by B&B Italia, Maxalto and
Flexform have enriched the atmosphere of Il Bar.
Undulating hanging curtains made from shimmering silk decorate the imposing nine-meterhigh
windows of the restaurant. Custom-made by world-famous Venetian textile company
Rubelli, a specialist of silk decorations, the curtains feature gold jacquard thread drawings
to evoke The Bvlgari Zodiac. Bvlgari’s eight-pointed star is an eternal symbol of the Roman
jeweller, woven into imaginary constellations that have been inspired by the most famous
symbols of Bvlgari’s creativity.
The constellations embrace Bvlgari’s sparkling jewellery collections with a magical aura: the
femininity of Diva is interpreted by the Peacock, the sheer power of B.zero1 lives on in Leo,
and the sensuality of the snake shines bright in a Serpenti constellation.
Two impressive 7-meter high Murano blown glass chandeliers crown the ambience of Il
Ristorante Luca Fantin to create a sophisticated yet cosy atmosphere. Custom-made by the
Venetian company Barovier & Toso, the leading manufacturer specialized in decorative
lighting of Murano glass, the chandeliers shine like jewelled stars over an elegant earth below.
Il Ristorante, the Bar and the eighth-floor lounge are operated by Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts at the
same standards of service developed for the Bvlgari Hotel in Milan, the Bali Resort and the
Bvlgari Hotel & Residences in London

AN INTRODUCTION TO
BVLGARI RESTAURANTS
IL RISTORANTE - LUCA FANTIN
Based in Tokyo since 2009, Luca has worked at some of the world’s top-ranked restaurants
including La Pergola in Rome, where he was sous chef under Heinz Beck.
His style is a contemporary interpretation of traditional Italian cuisine, based on the use of topquality
Japanese local raw materials that are elaborated with refined techniques and great
creativity. Preferring slow cooking at low temperature rather than sautéed ingredients, his
cookery is extremely light and authentic using herbs and edible flowers such as borage,
calendula, or rosemary to flavour his dishes.
His culinary creativity is particularly expressed with the way he cooks pasta, requiring a perfect
harmony of consistencies. Some of his signature dishes include the “Pappa al Pomodoro” with
crab, black olive chips and herb as well as the “Cacio & Pepe” homemade tagliolini with
scallops, black truffle and chive-flavoured oil.
Luca Fantin’s renowned cuisine added to the perfect combination of contemporary luxury
and tradition, have established Il Ristorante as one of the most sophisticated dining
experiences in Tokyo.
Since 2014 he has taken part to Epicurea, the global gourmet festival of the Bvlgari Hotel in
Milan, where the most prestigious chefs worldwide such as René Redzepi, Virgilio Martinez,
Yoshihiro Narisawa, present a special menu in the frame of the Bvlgari Hotel.
In 2014 he was awarded “Best Italian Chef in the World” by the prestigious Italian culinary guide
Identità Golose by Paolo Marchi, the founder of the guide.
This is the second recognition for Luca Fantin whose restaurant “Il Ristorante” at the #Bvlgari
Ginza Tower had received one Michelin star in 2011.
From April 2015, the restaurant is called Il Ristorante Luca Fantin including the name of the chef.
Luca Fantin also brought Epicurea food festival to Tokyo with top chefs of the world such as
Massimo Bottura, Andoni Luis Aduriz, Carlo Cracco and Rodolfo Guzman.
When it’s not possible to jet off to Japan, foodies from all over the world are now able to
discover his delectable creativities through the beautiful, illustrated volume and its luxury
slipcase LA CUCINA DI LUCA FANTIN. Published by ASSOULINE, the book reads as an exquisite
culinary collection, featuring thirty-two of Fantin’s original recipes. A sophisticated, stunning
coffee-table book, its pages gleam with original photography and detail Fantin’s inspiration for
each dish.
