Revel in the festive spirit at The Dolder Grand

I An idyllic winter wonderland awaits those looking to revel in the festive spirit at The Dolder Grand. Nestled between Zurich’s vibrant city centre and the tranquillity of the Adlisberg mountain, the legendary city resort is a picture-perfect winter destination – one that has had almost 125 years to master the art of celebrating the holidays in style.

From magical décor to seasonal culinary delights, specially themed art and a host of special packages, guests can experience the wonders of the festive season like never before. With snow-dusted peaks and enchanting forests on full view at every turn, guests will feel like they are in a living set of The Nutcracker – with all the joy The Dolder Grand encompasses.

Festivities begin in the lobby, which throughout December will be brought to life with all the seasonal trimmings – from elegant garlands draped on the grand staircases and fireplaces, to the most beautifully decorated 5-metre-tall fir tree at its heart. A striking advent calendar of illuminated stained-glass gift boxes created by Finnish master Jani Leinonen will also be displayed, a tribute to the hotel’s long-standing association with contemporary art.

With the Christmas at The Restaurant package, guests can celebrate with a 2-night stay, a 6-course dinner prepared by award-winning Culinary Director Heiko Nieder at the hotel’s signature Michelin-starred restaurant, a sumptuous daily breakfast, and unlimited access to the internationally renowned 4,000 sq. m. Spa.

The Festive Me Up! package offers a fully customisable stay including Switzerland’s best breakfast, unlimited Spa access, and a uniquely tailored guest experience inspired by the hotel’s festive offerings.

On 24th December, Christmas Brunch will be served at Saltz, with a menu geared to delight every palate, brimming with a mix of traditional and innovative gourmet fare. As the aroma of delectable dishes fills the air, guests will experience a culinary journey that perfectly complements the holiday spirit.

Adding to the winter spirit is the Dolder Lodge, with its charming, cosy set-up and unique offerings typical of a traditional Alpine lounge. The lodge serves refined culinary specialities that have been given a special twist and elevated by Michelin-starred Nieder, and will be open this year from 9th November

The resort is also sharing festive cheer through its unique Studio 8032 music concept, extending the magic of the season beyond its walls with The Dolder Grand’s Spotify playlist. The joyful melodies can transport all straight into the spirit of a snowy Zurich Christmas, from the comfort of your own home. Christmas playlist available here.

To wrap up the celebrations, guests will be able to ring in the New Year with either an 8-course dinner at The Restaurant, an evening in Saltz, or enjoying the ski hut atmosphere in the Dolder Lodge – followed by live music and disco vibes to call in the new year with stunning views of city lights and fireworks across Zurich.

Stepping outside the warmth of the resort, visitors have easy access to all the delights of the city across the festive season – whether it be the charming Zurich Christmas Village set against the spectacular backdrop of the Zurich Opera House or one of the many pop-up lodges or quirky events spread throughout the city, complete with the waft of cinnamon and roasted almonds filling the crisp, fresh air of Old Town and its historic cobbled streets. For the more adventurous, there is an array of incredible winter sports and endless outdoor activities set in stunning nature in the mountains, all right on the prestigious city resort’s doorstep. The Dolder Grand really has it all this winter.

The Dolder Grand features 175 luxurious rooms and suites, four restaurants and seasonal pop-ups. “The Restaurant” has been awarded two Michelin stars and 19 Gault Millau points, and “Restaurant Saltz” has 14 Gault Millau points. The spa area offers pure relaxation on around 4,000 square meters. The property has an extensive art collection, which consists of over 100 works by world-famous artists, including Salvador Dalí and Takashi Murakami. The five-star superior hotel, opened in 1899, bears the signature of the renowned architect Sylvia Sepielli and the respected architect Lord Norman Foster. It is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, the Swiss Deluxe Hotels, and the Responsible Hotels of Switzerland.

Pack nicotine alternatives

Smoking cessation isn’t a one-and-done thing; being out with friends—especially smokers—might exacerbate your cravings. Instead of giving in and asking for a smoke, tobacco-free alternatives can help tamp down those urges. Nicotine pouches are a great product for a night out. Most nicotine pouches come in cans, which allow users to experience nicotine satisfaction on the go. Another great option is nicotine patches, which have been around for decades as a quitting aid. Brands like Habitrol nicotine patches come with two or three-step programs over eight or twelve weeks, gradually lowering the nicotine dose after some time. all images ©
