  • Louis Vuitton hosts a traffic-stopping show inside its new building

Louis Vuitton debuts RTW Spring 2024 collection on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, well suited for this timeless Parisian catwalk. By Nermin A. Spring-summer 2024 Women’s Fashion Show Collection © Louis Vuitton – All rights reserved Louis Vuitton takes the opportunity to inaugurate its latest project on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, right next to its flagship store. The world’s largest luxury brand had partially stopped traffic going towards the city center in order to welcome show guests to this future social hotspot, notably Felix and Zendaya. Excited, thousands of fans gathered behind the security, trying to grab the attention of their favorite stars. That is how Mondays are during Paris Fashion Week. Nicolas Ghesquière is not shy about inviting guests to a show inside what is still essentially a construction site. He did it before, staging Louis Vuitton shows at the Samaritaine Paris department store and Vuitton’s Place Vendôme flagship store while they were still being renovated. Yet this time it is an imposant building in every sense, virtually overshadowing the art deco façade of the nearby flagship building. The 103, Champs-Élysées building was originally built for the 1900 Paris Exposition, and prominent guests already lodged here, including Mata Hari (not that she is Ghesquière's inspiration). Once star architect Peter Marino adds his last creative touch to its interiors the famous will return again. For the spring-summer 2024 show, the dust and raw concrete interior were completely covered with transparent 100% recyclable low-density polyethylene, which came in a luxurious Louis Vuitton-orange color. This did not stop the heat from entering, as some showgoers noted; however, it was not a cooling experience to stand outside either. Ghesquière presents a very fluid spring collection this time, in contrast to the somehow structured fall ready-to-wear 2023 line, which every show guest was wearing without any symptoms of overheating. This is the ingenuity of his designs; even the fall looks are airy and made to be worn in the new fall climate that we experience in Europe. So for the spring, the particular attention was on light-weight fabrics, which will be not only easy to wear in a hot summer but also practical to pack down for an exciting journey. There is still a lot of volume, but it is completely unstructured or controlled with the new oversize belt. The inflated blouses and padded satin jackets come in a variety of colors or sometimes stripes, which give the look a certain edge and a contemporary zebra look, which can be perfectly fit for a safari or an urban stroll. The Louis Vuitton collection is not made for salons but for the great outdoors, and I can imagine Ghesquière's unstructured jackets and taffeta shirtdresses becoming more alive on the go while biking or yachting. Even the new Louis Vuitton stiletto design comfortable for the foot. A lightweight feeling is emphasized in cocktail looks and the bias-cut. This spring 2024 collection is truly worth presenting and seeing on the Champs-Élysées. • Akris Spring 2024 Fashion Show celebrates art, women and creative freedom

The century old brand celebrates art works of Austrian artist from the period when Akris itself was established. Driven by integrity, passion, and great appreciation for avant-garde artist Akris Spring 2024 is presented to the backdrop of live music and a mountain of red poppies. By Nermin A. Akris show is staged in the sunbather Pavillion Gabriel to a live music performance on top of a red mountain made of hundreds of paper poppy flowers. Albert Kriemler invites guests to discover the universe of Austrian avantgarde artist Felice (Lizzi) Rix-Ueno, of the Wiener Werkstätte period, who moved to work and spend the rest of her life in Japan. It is this aesthetic that the spring 2024 collection embodies, aptly presented ahead of the opening of the exhibition dedicated to the collection's muse, titled "Stars, Feathers, Tassels: The Wiener Werkstätte Artist Felice Rix-Ueno (1893–1967)" on November 21, 2023, at the MAK Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna, Austria, which Akris also sponsors. Akris Spring 2024 Fashion Show. All images courtesy of Akris. The front row was also occupied with contemporary artists and strong women. Coco Rocha and Devon Windsor were seated together. International guests like Heart Evangelista and Micaela Wittman mingled with Emma Brooks, Mary Leest and many other at the refreshments served after the show. It is no wonder that such an artist could inspire a broad cross-section of the collection; not only has Felice Rix-Ueno established herself as one of the most remarkable artists of the WW with her highly poetic, independent style, but in her second home, Japan, she also succeeded as a university professor and founder of her own designer institute. all images © The collection is still very precise, with clean, minimal lines in lightweight, high-quality materials for what Akris is renown, featuring a lot of silk organza, even for well-tailored suits. Akris lets loose for the eveningwear with creative cuts and silk fringes featured on floor-length dresses in a final hommage to Rix-Ueno’s morale and concept of “Fantasie” [Fantasy], as she would say. • GEORGES HOBEIKA Ready-to-Wear collection 2024 in Paris

The storied Maison creates Couture, Bridal and Ready-to-Wear collection with equal passion and sense for detail that appeal to the contemporary woman and man. By Nermin A. As the first fashion house to showcase its collection at the temple of Baalbek, in Lebanon, Maison HOBEIKA finds itself in an extraordinary moment as the brand's presents the world its new show that is at the same time an ode to the marvels of the ancient world, heritage, creativity, art and power. All pillars that underpin the Maison HOBEIKA. And even more, "in collaboration between Maison Georges Hobeika and The Ministry of Culture part of the proceeds of this RTW Spring 2024 collection will be donated to The Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon," show notes state. During the Paris Fashion week Goerges Hobeika hosted an exclusive presentation at their HQ in Paris. Jad Hobeika & Corinna Nebgen von Klitzing, Founder & Creative Director of Deluxe Dynasty Corinna Nebgen von Klitzing, Founder & Creative Director of Deluxe Dynastyall images © This time, the brand's new collection uses the tall, sand-colored tempel walls of Baalbek as the backdrop and ideal stage to display an unparalleled fusion of savoir-faire and celebration of the contemporary woman (and man). George Hobeika presents the modern Roman Empress in many light sandy and pink looks embellished with Swarovski crystals and countless handmade details that perfectly resemble haute couture. The collection features equally well-tailored menswear, adding to the collection a true patrician touch and regality. Show Notes: About The RTW Spring 2024 Collection A timely yet timeless image brings its essential femininity to the Maison Georges Hobeika Spring-Summer 2024 Ready-to-Wear collection. The goddess of love and beauty – Aphrodite as she is known in Greek mythology – is the impetus behind a creative ode to romance, grace and emotion. Visual inspiration also comes from perhaps the most famous representation of the goddess in her Roman incarnation, Botticelli’s “Birth of Venus”, with its female figure rising through the waves. Flowing fabrics, intricately draped silhouettes and delicate colour combinations evoke this sense of poetry in a highly creative collection which is also the perfect showcase for the Maison’s trademark lavish embroidery and flair for embellishment. Just as Botticelli’s Venus appears fully formed from the sea, the season’s sensual gowns appear to cling to the body, playing a game of transparency through the delicate layering of sheer pastel mousseline and lace. Touches of shimmering gold and iridescence evoke the glitter of foam on the waves, while gradient hues reflect the notes of the sun and sky on the water. Cascading draping and impeccable “flou” work enhance the body to create a goddess-like silhouette, a paean to feminine strength and the power of love. Attention to detail is equally enamoured, reflecting the visual symbolism of Aphrodite’s realm. Pearls and seashells – representations of purity and elegance – as well as vine leaves, flowers and rushes tell a mythological story through their appearance as prints or textural elements. Accessories themselves play with this theme, featuring a seashell spiral earring with pearl detailing, and a pearl-studded belt closed with a clasp in the shape of the Maison Georges Hobeika orchid. Fabrics include denim, crepe and georgette, with the poetry of an Ancient Greek sunset displayed across printed mousseline in a complex scenery of columns, birds, fish, butterflies, and a host of other natural elements. Bespoke lace swirls into circular shapes featuring images from ancient mythology as well as the Maison’s own icons, while a second design is inspired by the woven texture of antique rattan chairs. A version of this lattice effect is also worked in raffia, adding an extra dimension to a selection of looks. Further texture comes from braided rope detailing and a play of visual contrasts – the trademark rich embroidery that is part of the Georges Hobeika heritage features in all its expected brilliance, but also opts for more surprising matte thread work to create a sense of the unexpected. Likewise, the looks themselves alternate between the ornate and the unadorned, forming a narrative that flits from classical to resolutely contemporary. Walking in flats, this modern-day goddess adopts a determined step, bringing with her a sense of lightness, elegance, and joy. This sense of escapism through beauty is the expression of Maison Georges Hobeika at the peak of its savoir-faire. Beyoncé chose a GEORGES HOBEIKA Couture gown from the Fall 2023 collection in her recent stage appearence. The off-the-shoulder dress is made from silk and is embroidered in turquoise silver Swarovski crystals. The see-through dress is hand-embellished with turquoise feathers. This colour is surprisingly not one of key themes for the new Ready-to-wear collection presented earlier today-GEORGES HOBEIKA 2024 Collection titled "A DREAM" where the actress Fan BingBing modeled a dress in the similar turquoise shade. To add a dramatic impact, the gown was complimented with a custom-made embroidered head-veil. The full look took 310 hours to be complemented with a team of embroiderers, plumassiers and couturiers. Creating runway for Georges Hobeika and Beyoncé performing in the Maison's couture an achievement unique to the Hobeika brand. #Beyoncé didn't disappoint when she kicked off her Renaissance world tour in Sweden earlier this year. • Alexis Mabille Spring Summer 2024

For his ready-to-wear Spring-Summer 2024, Alexis Mabille presents a 26 looks collection. The theme "Evening Essentials" By Nermin A. Corolla dress in purple silk piqué, with point d'esprit tulle and black lace applique. Matching satin belt with jewel buckle. With a range of warm colors, the sensual theme is highlighted with attention to detail and waist, often accessorized with belt in matching tone, featuring an embellished buckle on long princess dresses with a tight bodice. Mabille makes the modern princess modern with a balanced interplay between the upper part and the dress. The details look like couture and are very sophisticated rather than exaggerated. There is a great variation and room for experiment among many of Mabille's signature Corolla bustier dresses. This time, Mabille favored attention to the waistline. The distinctive silhouette and sharply tailored pointy shoulders are absent, but the edgy styles give this collection strong relevance for day and evening events. There is one feature that every collection has, and it was so elegantly presented on a long shirt dress in pink. Pastel pinks and dark blues meet purples, reds, greens and black, all authentic Mabille variation. Silhouette is more floating and draped and couturesque. Dresses appear levitating, and invite to a flamenco dance. Monochrome looks and exaggerated wide dresses contrasted with well-tailored tops that resemble evening jackets. There is a feeling of drama and spontaneity in the expression of putting clothes and mixing different styles in one look. Everything is very sophisticated and made in the best materials, for the best moments in the life. • Acne Studios presents Women’s Spring Summer 2024 collection

Acne Studios presents its Women’s Spring Summer 2024 collection Show at the UNESCO protected 17th century Paris Observatory. In 1665–1666, the French Academy of Sciences suggested building the Paris Observatory, a work commenced by King Louis XIV. And today it hosts the very contemporary Acne Studios Spring Summer 2024 show within refurbished settings and details conceived just for the occasion by contemporary artists in the collaboration with the brand. By Nermin A. Acne Studios Women’s Spring Summer 2024 collection. All images courtesy of the brand. Acne Studios is the only brand to be showing at the exclusive venue which has not hosted any shows for the past decade. The Show space 700 sqm has 515 seats, and limited front row access for celebrities like Kylie Kardashian the latest face of Acne. To prepare the 80 m long runway it took 12 days to construct and dismantle the show scenography and structures with 437 people working on the show production alone. Smashed Disco Ball, designed by Alice Kirkpatrick, in the background and Lukas Gschwandtner's cosy pillows and cushions to match the space. Yet it all follows a red thread; from the artist Lukas Gschwandtner, who designed 105 pillows and cushions just to enhance comfort for the show guests, (in not less than 5 different designs), to the centerpiece a larger than life smashed Disco Ball, designed by Alice Kirkpatrick featuring around 25,000 mirrored facets, it took 10 people 3 weeks to create. But why? Not only is the silver disco ball structure reinterpreted in show's accessories like silver handbags or crusted on the denim looks, but collaboration with contemporary artists represents the essence of Acne Studios and the brand's international success. The next season's looks are quite complex and involve a lot of hand finished processes; these pieces take over 36 hrs physically working on them to make - realized by a leather moulding technique specialist. “The industrial mood this season comes mostly from my passion for denim and the many ways we can manipulate this amazing fabric. It also comes from the idea of a construction site: things are unfinished, a work in progress. I wanted to convey the beauty of that,” says Jonny Johansson, creative director of Acne Studios. “We also worked with Katerina Jebb’s scanography series Physical Evidence of a Woman. These artefacts are something that I feel is almost lost today, they feel dated, yet they are still there. So we used them as prints and subverted them. This exploration felt timely with where we are in fashion right now: lines between genders are blurred, there are no labels anymore.” There is a juxtaposition in weights; heavily plaster-treated pieces contrast with light, airy silks and delicate feathers. White and greys with a cement tone contrasted with strong signal colours: vivid blue, green, and red. Pastel pinks and blues meet purples. It all adds to floating and sculptural, draped and couturesque, slightly undone. Skirts appear levitating, low on the waist, as if hanging off the body. Monochrome looks and exaggerated elongated sleeves contrasted with micro lengths. The collection is not just modern in an avant-garde way but very sensual too. Sabrina's little armchair, the Capri foldable chair and the Elianto platform, originated from a common design concept that was influenced by the fundamentals of timeless design. “We have meticulously crafted each piece, says Espen Øino, paying great attention. to every detail. Each line, material choice, and finish have been designed to harmonize. form and function, ensuring an exceptional outdoor experience”. The project is equally dedicated to reducing environmental impacts through the use of of recyclable and recycled materials. The padding, made of polyester fiber (Aerelle®), Blue is a testament to this common commitment, created from plastic recovered along riverbeds and at sea. What truly sets this collection apart is its exceptional functionality, tailored to for life at sea. Espen Øino’s rigorous approach to functional design, honed through extensive experience in designing mega yachts that blend luxury with practicality, is complemented by Paola Lenti’s expertise in materials research. The Capri chair and deck chair, being folding and easily storable, create free space in compact environments. Sabrina, with its generous proportions, fosters convivial moments around the table during extended dinners or meetings aboard. In 2003, Paola Lenti disrupted the market with a groundbreaking concept: an outdoor collection characterized by rich textiles, transcending the conventional boundary between indoor and outdoor spaces. Over two decades, the company has enjoyed unwavering success in the exclusive world of yachting, driven by the quality of its offerings, the exceptional performance of materials and fabrics in challenging weather conditions, and the extensive customization opportunities it offers to designers and yacht owners. “I find the nautical sector fascinating because it is inherently challenging, says Paola Lenti. “It is a market that propels us to explore materials deeply and find innovative solutions that enhance performance of products designed for residential use as well.” The introduction of revolutionary high-tech rope yarn in 2002 revolutionized outdoor furniture. However, it’s the continual development of increasingly high performance technical materials that have enabled the company to maintain and strengthen its position as a market leader. Materials like Twiggy yarn, a direct descendant of Rope, the Maris fabric, and the Diade structural material are just a a few of the “tools” used today to create enduring furnishing elements and architectural accessories. These pieces are designed to withstand the test of time, impervious to water, UV rays, mold, and bacteria. “We subject all our collections to more rigorous testing procedures than required by current regulations, examining each component separately,” explains Anna Lenti.
